How to Pay Utility Bills on Wave Mobile Money in Uganda

Wave Mobile Money in Uganda has recently launched/added a new feature [free bill payment] to its service. The new feature will let Wave users to make utility payments using the app for free.

However, I have discussed in this article how to make utility bills payment [such as DSTV, Yaka, National water, GOTV and Umeme] for free using the Wave Mobile app.

Additionally, the announcement was made in a tweet by the country manager on Twitter, he said users can now pay for utility bills such as Electricity, Water and TV subscription free of charge using the wave app.

How to Pay Utility Bills for Free Using the Wave Mobile App.

1. Download Wave Mobile Money App 

The Wave Mobile Application is available for download on Google play store for Android users and iOS app store for iPhone users. Download the wave app and register an account using your phone number.

2. Get Started with Bill payment

After your successful registration, you will issued with a QR code that carry all your account information. 

Now, click on the navigation menu and select "bills" to start processing your payment. 

3. Choose your Preferred Service

National water and Sewerage cooperation, Umeme, Yaka, DSTV and GOTV are services that are available at the moment for bill payment.

4. Enter your Utility detail and Make your Payment.

Lastly, you have to provide your utility account details and input the amount money you want to pay and proceed. Now, input your wave account security pin to complete your transactions.

Note, all the bill payment you make on wave mobile money app are free of charge.

The platform is well known for it offering of free services such as free withdrawal and deposit when high transactions fees, taxes and charges became burden to people. The Mobile Money Platform has lifted about a million of people out of poverty.

Now wave did not only stop by offering free and affordable way to save, transfer or even borrow money. Instead, they extend their services to free utility bills payment.
